Six things your Amazon Echo can do that Google Home Can’t

Google is always adding new features to Home. While competition for the best smart speakers is tough and tight, Amazon’s Echo is no slouch in that department. Here are a few things that Amazon Echo can do that Google Home Can’t:

Track Packages

You can order your favorite products using Alexa and you can track orders placed through Amazon with Alexa. All you have to say to track your item is to ask, “Alexa, where is my stuff?” Alexa will inform you with the estimated day your parcel requires to arrive. However, if you ask Google Home to track your package today, she will reply with, “I can’t do that yet”

Delivery Notifications

Alexa is an efficient assistant who can tell you whether something you want to order online is available for delivery or not and it’s not limited to packages from Amazon.

For instance, you can also enable the notifications for Domino’s pizza delivery status.  In contrast to Alexa, you can’t do this with Google home however, Google Home does support notifications for reminders and calls now but it can’t tell you if your ordered item is out for delivery.

Amazon Music and Prime Music

With the Amazon’s Alexa speakers you can get support for the music services, save for YouTube and Google Play Music. You even get support for Amazon’s in-house streaming services and the Prime music.

Voice Remote

You can get an Alexa Voice Remote for $30 which will be able to control your Echo from out of typical voice range. However, this remote is not available in the UK or Australia. To accomplish the same voice control with Google Home would cost you a triple of Alexa’s remote as Google Home remote is for $129.

Third- party apps

Amazon enables the power of Alexa within the apps like Ubi and Roger. One of the developers created an online tool “Echosim.io” which test their skills without needing to own the hardware and as a bonus anyone can take Alexa for a test drive in their browser.

Apart from streaming audio, there are virtual versions of Alexa that work the same as the official devices from Amazon. You can experience a full effect of Alexa without even spending on the Amazon’s speakers. In contrast, to test Google Home you can use Google Assistant on a compatible Android phone.

Routines on a Schedule

Google Home and Alexa speakers received updates to enable routine and fire off multiple actions from a single command. However, only Alexa’s routines can be activated on a schedule for now. For instance, you can use Alexa to turn on the lights or play your favorite show at any given time. Moreover, you don’t have to give this command to any of your speakers.
