Five Amazing Alexa Tips for Music Lovers

We are living in a tech-driven world and everything has taken a sharp turn in terms of advancements. Music has evolved at a gradual pace, and streaming music has been very convenient nowadays. Most importantly after Alexa’s birth, streaming music has become a lot easier as it became her key feature. You no longer have to connect your phone to a wired speaker’s ox and listen to your favorite music.

There are several other things that Alexa can do. Below are five amazing Alexa tips compiled by Loyica especially for all music lovers.

Change the Default Music Service

Other than Amazon’s in-house streaming service, any default music streaming service should be changed. To do this, open the Alexa application and perform the following steps:

  • Go to Settings > Music & Media > Choose Default Music Service.
  • Select Spotify under Default Music Library,
  • For radio, choose Pandora which comes under Default station service.

After changing this through settings, users are not required to specify the services they want to stream the music. For instance, if you want to use Amazon’s Music Unlimited at any stance, then all you have to do is command Alexa to play a song on Amazon Music.

Search for Similar Music

Listening to the same music all can get frustrating. However, Alexa can search for similar music to create a perfect blend for the user. To get this done, you have to say, “Alexa play music similar to Fireflies by Owl City.” This tip is applicable for all songs and artists.

Create your Favorite Playlists

Recently, Amazon initiated an idea to create playlists with Alexa. This works with Amazon’s own music streaming services. If you are a Spotify user, then you will have to build your personal playlist from a smartphone or PC. For creating a playlist, command Alexa and say:

“Alexa, create a new playlist.”

“Alexa, create a ‘Club Mix’ playlist.”

“Alexa, add this song to ‘Club Mix’ playlist.”

Play Music Across all the Speakers in your House

Now, streaming music to more than one Alexa speakers around the house has been made easier. All you have to do is go to alexa.amazon.com or open the Alexa app on your smartphone. Then, perform the following steps:

  • Go to Settings > Multi-Room Music.
  • Create a group that includes the speakers you want to create a connection with
  • Then, command, “Alexa, play [specific song] on [group name].”

Waking up to music with Alexa is not a big deal because music alarms work with Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn, and iHeartRadio. Following are several ways you can create a music alarm for yourself.

“Alexa, wake me up to the Sia-Cheap Thrills.”

"Alexa, wake me up to a piece of relaxing music."
